Seagrasses form vibrant meadows along coastlines worldwide, providing a home for charismatic species like sea turtles and dugongs. However, these biodiversity hotspots are under threath from various stressors. My research focuses on the resilience of seagrass ecosystems, particularly in the Caribbean, and how their communities respond to a rapidly changing environment.

  • For example, this seagrass meadow looks healthy, maybe a bit sparse

  • Only after you remove the herbivores in the area, you can show and measure their impact.

  • In this case, green turtles are responsible.
